If I had listened to the others every time...
…then I wouldn't have moved out of home at 16 to pursue my dream of competitive sports alongside my high school diploma - and that with a height of 1.63m in indoor volleyball.
…then, as a young woman, I would never have chosen a career in an industry where “established” men still call the shots.
…then I wouldn't have taken over the management of a warehouse location at just 24 years old - and that far from my home country.
… then I would not have moved on to 4 more countries to grow both professionally and personally, in order to eventually take over the country management of logistics at the C-level.
And now art on top of a corporate job?
Did I have any doubts on this trip?
Absolutely, and in fact, not just one.
Have I asked myself whether I really have what it takes to be responsible for 200 employees with so little life experience?
Definitely!
Was I afraid to let go of my home – especially after losing my father at the young age of only 50 and no longer being able to be with my mother whenever I wanted?
Without a doubt.
Did I feel apprehensive about constantly venturing down new paths, leaving behind certainties, and reinventing myself?
Every time.
But that, for me, is precisely where growth lies and the power to create your own story.
A story in which you don't follow the version that others want to see in you.
But the version you want to create of yourself.
A version that belongs entirely to you.
She doesn't diminish herself to meet the expectations of others.
But greater because she lives her qualities, talents, and her own vision.
Because you are creating your own story.
This is exactly the spirit I convey through my art.
A daily reminder on your wall that you are free to go your own way.
As a silent appeal to you to trust your inner voice – no matter where you are right now.
As a vision board for your very own mission, no matter what your destination is.
