@ Night II
What if only this moment matters?
It begins with that one moment when everyday life falls away from her like a coat thrown over the back of a chair.
It actually started with a harmless intention.
Just one drink and then off to bed.
The music is already there before she even realizes it. And then suddenly it starts to feel lighter.
She laughs, first quietly, then louder, as if someone had flipped a switch.
She dances, first tentatively, then as if nobody is watching – simply in a way that feels good – shoulders relaxed, head back, a laugh bursting out of her.
For a few hours, no job, no to-do list, no obligations.
Only the here and now.
Just the rhythm and that thrilling thought: This is exactly where I want to be right now.
And then she goes home.
She's standing outside; the night feels like a welcome respite from the heat.
Neon lights are reflected in the puddles.
She walks to her apartment, shoes in hand.
She opens the door and simply falls onto the bed.
The butterflies in her stomach still linger, and she knows exactly: Damn, that's what I needed.
Not the celebration itself, but being reminded that this version of her is always there.
Let go of everything, defy expectations, and enjoy the moment.
And this version is ready to be celebrated again.
