Why not, indeed?
I moved out of home at almost 16 years old to pursue my dream of competitive sports alongside my high school diploma - and that with a body height of 1.63m in indoor volleyball.
I successfully completed my studies in the field of supply chain management and logistics - and since then work in a company with which I have been able to grow personally and professionally in 5 different countries.
At the age of 24, I was already allowed to take on the leadership for one of our Distribution Centers.
Today I lead the Country Logistics organization in Austria - and that in an industry where particularly established male voices still set the tone.
Why am I telling you all this?
And what does that have to do with my art?
My story is actually not at all about the milestones I have achieved in my life.
Rather, it is about looking "behind the scenes" and the many questions, opinions and criticism that I have encountered often enough on my journey.
Moving out of home at the age of 16?
Indoor volleyball with a body height of 1.63m?
A professional career in this industry as a woman?
Leadership responsibility for 200+ employees at the age of 24?
C-level executive in a company under 40?
And the latest one:
Being an artist alongside a full-time job that couldn't be further away from art?
My simple answer to that: Why not?
This is exactly the spirit I want to convey through my art.
I want to tell the story of people who decide to follow their own dreams - no matter what questions, opinions, criticism or expectations other people might have about them.
Those who face their challenges and overcome their inner self-doubt in order to live their dream of life.
The story of people who get to write their own story.
